In , wearable technologies are used to monitor and manage crowds at events and add value to the visitor’s experience.

In this video Arjen Schoneveld from Dexels explain two kinds of smart wristbands:

  • the staff wristband, used by the security staff in order to locate members in real time and view their positions on a map;
  • the crowd wristband, which anonymously tracks people for the creation of crowd heat maps, making it possible for security staff to identify problems and if necessary, redirect people to safer spots. The wristband can also work as the entrance ticket and payment device and let the concert goer become part of the light show by activating the two LED lights on the wristband.
